Catalans in Gilbert Brutus Stadium boost

Perpignan City Council has confirmed to the Catalans Dragons that the renovation and expansion of the Gilbert Brutus stadium would begin in March. The construction of this new stand with 1500 seats a new club shop, a corporate box, a restaurant and a ba! r will be conducted for the 2010 season start.

The works won’t disturb the home games organisation and the Dragons will host their home games at Gilbert Brutus stadium. However, the Gilbert Brutus stadium will be too small for the biggest crowd of the season and the club will relocate four games in the nearby Aime Giral stadium with the City Council agreement.

Wigan shine in Wednesday evening battle

Wigan shine in Wednesday evening battle

Wigan edged out local rivals Warrington at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on a cold Wednesday evening fixture in what was Paul Wood's testimonial fixture, claiming a 20-12 victory and injecting a huge confidence boost for Michael McGuire's men.

The Wolves took an lead early through some sloppy defence by Cameron Phelps which allowed Adrian Morley to score the first points of the evening. But a large number of mistakes by both sides kept the scoreline low in the first half.
